World Tales and Tunes for PreK-2nd:

In this 1-1.5 hour program, teaching artists engage up to 50 students at time in an interactive journey where they use theatre and music to re-enact stories from all over the world. This program builds an appreciation for other cultures and helps students become aware of the world community.

Earth Day! for ages K-8th:

In this 1-hour program, a team of teaching artists will lead up to 50 students at a time in an interactive performance based upon the folktale "The Woman who Outshone the Sun." Through the activities, students learn about respecting the environment discover specific ways they can help take care of Mother Nature every day. This program is accompanied by a teacher/parent resource packet that can be used in the classroom or at home to foster continued learning.

Building Leadership through the Arts for 5th-8th:

TAP Teaching Artists lead up to 50 students at a time in a variety of role-play and interactive theater and team-building games that help each student to explore their own role as a leader on their school campus. Can be used as a jumpstart for Service Learning projects or as a way to build community amongst students. Students leave the workshop with specific communication and interpersonal skills. Workshops can be as short as one 1.5 hour class or as long as 6, 1.5 hour classes. This program is accompanied by a teacher/parent resource packet that can be used in the classroom or at home to foster continued learning.

Customized Programs

Theatre Action Project also offers customized workshops. Our staff will work closely with your school or organization to create an assembly and/or workshop around a special topic or challenge. Using imaginative role play, teambuilding exercises, guided discussions, and activities for creative expression, students explore possible solutions or ways to create change in their daily lives. Sample topics include bullying, prejudice, parent-child communication and drug and alcohol awareness.
