Theatre Action Project Loves Volunteers!
Whether you'd like to lend your professional skills over the long term or pitch in for an afternoon at one of our special events, Theatre Action Project welcomes your help. Past volunteers have updated our marketing materials, photographed our performances, marched in our First Night parade, and put on puppet shows at the Zilker Kite Festival!
We need volunteers to help us prepare for and put on our many special events. Please click here to see a calendar of upcoming events and the kinds of volunteers we will need. Check out the 3 main ways volunteers get involved with TAP:
1) Volunteering in our after-school program!
After-school volunteers have the chance to engage with young people in the classroom using a variety of creative means to explore social issues. Volunteering in the after-school program is a one time a week volunteer commitment for a school semester. We currently are at close to 30 campuses located in East Austin, North Austin, Round Rock and South Austin.
Requirement: Volunteer on a weekly basis for a one semester commitment. No prior creative arts and/or teaching experience needed though it is definitely a plus, but a love and enthusiasm for kids is needed.
2) Special events
We can always use help at special events which typically are on the weekends. Currently we have a few special events on the books. These include our December 1st HEB Day, December 31st First Night parade & storybook drama, February fundraising event, & March 2nd Zilker Kite Festival. 3) Administrative volunteering
This is a great way for volunteers to learn skills around non-profit administration or lend their expertise in areas like marketing/public relations, fundraising/grant writing, photography, events/benefits, database management, volunteer management, and accounting/finance.
We are interested in volunteers willing to take on a single project, or to be "on tap" for projects as they come up.
